The Art of Royal Icing
This is the class to get some professional skills that will turn well decorated cakes into creations that really have the wow factor. Royal Icing has made a huge revival, and why not when it is such a beautiful art form? This course is suitable for the beginner or those wishing to extend their ability and gain more confidence in a great skill that can add a completely personal touch to any cake. By the end of the day you would have created a beautiful iced sampler dummy of which you will be able to refer back to for any of your future cake projects to make them really special. We suggest this day class if you are interested in enrolling on PME Royal Icing or our very own Certificate in Cake Decoration module 2
During the day you’ll learn the art of making perfect royal icing, shell piping, pearl beads, lines, dots, run outs and a host of other skills, including how to pipe writing with a neat and professional finish.
Your cupcakes and cookies will become mini works of art, you’ll be able to personalise your celebration cakes and when you embark on a wedding cake, your skill level and confidence will advance your creativity and design.

o How to pipe scrolls and filigree designs
o How to pipe a message
o Brush embroidery
o Run outs
o How to include polka dots and pulled hearts in run out designs
o How to pipe leaves and grass effect
This class provides the foundations of a skill that you can spend a lifetime perfecting. The day allows for plenty of time to practice so that you can utilize the skills of the tutors for their advice. The use of Royal Icing finishing touches on your own cakes will make them completely unique and incredibly special. This course is held in our new teaching facility “The Studio”. Free Car parking is available very nearby. “The Studio” is situated within yards of the local Bus Station and Taxi Rank, with only a 5 minute walk to the Train Station.
This course is a full day course starting at 10.00 and finishing by around 16.30.

What you need to bring / equipment:
Everyone in the class will be provided with a full set of equipment to use on the day and materials, so you will not need to bring anything with you except a packed lunch and an apron. We will also provide drinks for refreshment.
