This is an excellent course for beginners. Learn how to prepare your fruit cake prior to marzipaning. Then cover with both marzipan and sugarpaste to achieve a professional, smooth finish. We will then show you how to make Royal Icing, Piping bags, and discuss the 5 consistencies we use to pipe with, You will then be shown how to produce the snail trail and shell techniques. To complete your cake you will cover the board with textured sugarpaste and pipe around the base. This class is a must if you wish to enrol on any of our Christmas decorating short evening courses that require a prepared base. Keep your receipt and upon enrolling on any course that required a pre-covered base we will allow a 15% cash back discount.

Course Location:

This course is held in our new teaching facility “The Studio”. Free Car parking is available very nearby. “The Studio” is situated within yards of the local Bus Station and Taxi Rank, with only a 5 minute walk to the Train Station.

Course Times:

This class starts at 10.00 and finishing by around 16:00.

What’s included?

The course price includes the use of all our professional equipment, some materials and 6 hours tuition.. Course attendees will also receive 10% discount on items purchased in the cake decorating supplies shop on the day of your course. 

What you need to bring: 

To keep the cost low you will need to bring an 8” fruit base, 1kg of marzipan, 1kg of white sugarpaste and a 11” board (same shape as fruit cake) and box, own choice of ribbon (15mm xs . We can provide this for an extra £45 if advised on booking . You will need to bring a packed lunch.
