Due to ABC introducing a substancial charge for the support they give we have had too increase our fees, this has increased the weekly class to £25 a session (less than £8.33 an hour). Payment for this course has been seperated into 5 week monthly payments of £125 payable by direct debit to be set up on enrolment over 7 months (with additional administratuion fee paid on entrance).  WE hope this payment plan eases the costs for our students as we still feel this is excellent value for an excellent run course -having no control of costs incurred or lack of government funding.

Level 3 Cake Decoration

The ABC Level 3 Certificate in Cake Decoration is the follow on and natural progression to the Level 2 Award in Cake decoration and is based around 4 units that assess both practical ability and theoretical knowledge of cake decoration competencies. This course builds on cake decoration skills already developed with an emphasis on advanced sugar craft techniques. The standard of work is the equivalent to competition exhibits. Please note we will be offering this course as a long distance learning programme as welll which means the student can attend lesson via skype, but must be able to attend the centre to present work for assessment of each module. Details will be given on induction but you can email if interested.

The qualification has a 30 Credit value.

Completed and passed level 2 ABC Awards Qualification in Cake Decoration

What you will learn:

ROYAL ICING:-This unit will enable learners to produce their own designs and finished products using advanced royal icing skills and techniques for two different styles of cakes and one centre piece to competition standard

SUGARPASTE:-This unit will enable learners to produce their own designs and finished products using advanced sugarpaste skills and techniques for three different styles of cakes to competition standard

MODELLING:-In this unit, learners will develop skills to produce and store sugarpaste, marzipan and pastillage models for cake decoration.  Learners will learn how to use hand modelling tools with precision to produce 2D and 3D models to competition standard. Student to produce 2 models of competition standard

WEDDING CAKE This unit will enable learners to produce their own design for a tiered wedding cake using either advanced sugar paste or royal icing techniques
